Congratulations to Interlake senior Tessa Buck who competed at the Washington Career and Technical Sports Medicine Association state competition April 22-23, 2016!

Buck is enrolled in sports medicine at Issaquah High School through the interdistrict WANIC consortium, which allows students to enroll in career and technical education courses at other schools in the area. The Issaquah High team won the title of WCTSMA State Champions and individually Buck placed second in the Medical Terminology category.

Over 800 students from 46 different schools competed in the championship this year. Disciplines included general sports medicine tests, practical skill specialists, medical term specialists, anatomy and physiology specialists, emergency responder specialists, exercise physiology, and quiz bowls.

By winning the state competition, the team qualified to compete in the Sports Medicine National Championships in May.
