Congratulations to Tillicum Middle School seventh grader Matthew Lucas who will be participating in USA Volleyball’s High Performance Boys Future Select National Training Program this summer in Vernon Hills, IL. Lucas was selected after an intensive national tryout. The program he will be participating in works to advance volleyball talent and build a broader and strong pipeline of athletes and coaches for USA Olympic teams.
Lucas has been playing volleyball for many years, starting out at the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club where Bellevue High School senior Dominique Zastrow coached him for six seasons. The past two years Lucas has been playing with the boys’ club volleyball teams at Moxie Juniors in Bellevue and the Space Needle Volleyball Foundation in Seattle.
