Congratulations to Spiritridge Elementary third grade teacher Ai-my Dinh who was honored as a 2017 Symetra Hero in the Classroom, during a surprise presentation at her school on Dec. 8.

“A role model for students, fellow staff, and prospective teachers alike, Ai-my Dinh was born to teach.  Kind-hearted, yet softly strict with her expectations, Ai-my is the perfect ‘warmhearted demander,’ who wants each and every student to see themselves as smart, confident and capable of reaching their highest potential,” said former colleague Chris Ito, who nominated Dinh for the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom award.

Honorees are selected based on their ability to make a real difference in students’ lives, for going ‘above and beyond,’ and helping students build life skills.  They receive a $2,000 donation from Symetra for classroom books and supplies, as well as tickets to a Seahawks home game where they will be acknowledged during an on-field presentation.  Dinh will be recognized at the Dec. 31 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
