Congratulations to Marilyn Henselman, the district’s supervisor of Career & Technical Education (CTE), for being named the 2018 King County Career & Technical Education Administrator of the Year!

The award recognizes professionals who have demonstrated leadership in ensuring teacher and student success, and who have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique, and effective CTE programs.

“Marilyn’s commitment to Career & Technical Education is evident in her long-term strategic plan which not only includes growing our student leadership organization to allow BSD students to network with industry leaders, but also enhancing professional development training for CTE instructors and expanding course offerings in an effort to shrink the graduation success gap,” said Grace Brady, BSD Curriculum Developer.

As the King County award recipient Henselman is a nominee for the state CTE Director of the Year to be awarded this summer.
