Congratulations to Bellevue High junior Chris Kim on receiving a Gold Medal in the national Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, as well as the American Visions Award for his mixed media art, “I, My, Me, Mine.”

According to the Art and Writing website, the awards program is the nation’s, “longest running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12.”

The American Visions Award is given to artists who demonstrate originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal vision. One artist and one writer from each region in the state is presented with this award each year.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
