Congratulations to the students from Tyee Middle School and Newport High School who were part of the winning alliance at the 2018 FIRST FTC Robotics World Championship, which was held April 18-22 in Houston, TX.

Team 12611 TechNova, which includes students from Bellevue and Lake Washington school districts, competed in partnership with Team 7750 M&M’s from Sutherlin, Oregon and Team 724 RedNek Robotics Wun from Sun River, Montana. Together the three teams emerged as the champions.  This is the first time a team from Washington state has been a part of a winning alliance at the FTC Championship!

The four-day event is one of the largest events in the world to celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) for students. Nearly 700 robotics teams with over 15,000 students, aging from 6-18 years, from 43 countries competed and exhibited their innovation skills.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
