Interlake High School student Sagarika Samavedi has been selected to represent Washington State at the National Stockholm Junior Water Prize in Charlotte, North Carolina in June.

The Stockholm Junior Water Prize is the world’s preeminent youth award for a water related science project. The prize taps into the unlimited potential of today’s high school students as they seek to address current and future water challenges. Her research analyzes the effects of anthropogenic pollution on the net primary productivity of oceanic phytoplankton using satellite data and in vitro studies.
