Congratulations to the following BSD students on representing Washington state at the 10th annual Math Prize for Girls in Cambridge, Massachusetts this month!

Participants from Bellevue included Melody Wang, Joy An, Candace Do, Shifa Somji, Alicia Zhi and Vivian Lu.

The competition organized by the Advantage Testing Foundation, includes approximately 300 young female mathematicians, who complete a challenging test of mathematical creativity and insight. The goal, according to the foundation, is to promote gender equity in STEM professions and encourage young women to become mathematical and scientific leaders.
