Yum! Preschoolers at Puesta Del Sol learned about locally grown food for Taste of Washington Day.  The students held different types of potatoes and identified various types of beans. They also guessed which fruit or vegetable was in a box just by using their sense of touch. The preschoolers had a blast and learned lots about Washington-grown foods too!

Shoko Kumagai, a dietitian for the BSD Nutrition Services department, created the different and fun activities for the preschoolers. She hopes the activities will expose the students to locally grown food. This will help them identify which Washington-grown foods they already eat!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
