Lake Hills honored their students at their ClapOut celebration last week. The “ClapOut” is an event where students, staff and families come together to enjoy breakfast, take photos and have a parade to recognize the students being clapped out and cheered on. There are multiple ClapOut celebrations throughout the year so each student has an opportunity to be appreciated. Rather than having an assembly at the end of the year, Lake Hills started ClapOuts as an active way to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of all their students.

Each student will have the opportunity to be recognized at a ClapOut and will receive a certificate recognizing their hard work. The celebration starts with a community breakfast where families join their students at school. After the students receive their certificates and take a few photos their classmates, families and staff line the hallways. As the students walk through they are cheered on, high-fived and clapped out!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
