Congratulations to all the Bellevue School District students who were awarded for their community leadership! To celebrate Bellevue Youth Link’s 29th year of providing nationally recognized programs and services for Bellevue teens, Youth Link requested nominations of children and teens for their positive influence in the community. The recipients of the leadership awards are:

  • Ren Watanabe, International School, received the award for Advocacy for Cultural & Heritage Pride.
  • Jayden Robles, Big Picture School, received the award for Advocacy for Social Justice – Individual.
  • Bending the Arc, a group from Bellevue High School, received the award for Advocacy for Social Justice – Group.
  • Andrea Liao, Interlake High School, received the award for Advocacy for Education.
  • Luis Rodriguez, Interlake High School, received the award for Advocacy for Family Support.
  • Kevin Powell, Sherwood Forest Elementary School, received the award for Advocacy for Sports & Recreation.
  • Leonardo Salas Ramos, Interlake High School, received the award for Advocacy for Inclusivity & Allyship.
  • Michelle Egli, Bellevue High School, received the award for Advocacy for Inclusivity & Allyship.
  • Victoria Christopher, Bellevue High School, received the award for Environmental Champion.
  • Arjan Dillon, International School, received the award for Excellence in Youth Arts.
  • Sakhi Bhandaru, International School, received the award for Outstanding Creative & Innovative Thinker.
  • Akilah Kayanda, Sherwood Forest Elementary School, received the award for Outstanding Elementary School Student.
  • Harrison Prow, Chinook Middle School, received the award for Outstanding Middle School Student.
  • Raia Karmali, Newport High School, received the award for Outstanding High School Student.
  • Guadalupe Aliseda-Canton, Newport High School, received the award for Outstanding Youth Volunteer.
  • Zain Bhatti, Sherwood Forest Elementary School, received the award for Unsung Hero.
  • Erik Mercado, Sammamish High School, received the award for Youth Link “Norm Maleng” Social Justice.

Bellevue Youth Link is a leadership program sponsored by the City of Bellevue, Parks & Community Service Department and Bellevue School District. Since 1990, Bellevue Youth Link has engaged young people in our community and given them opportunities to make a difference.
