Last week we had the honor of hosting Chinese educators who were visiting the Pacific Northwest through the Global Innovation Exchange (GIX) – a collaboration between the University of Washington, Tsinghua University and Microsoft that provides a new model of experiential education and practice to develop leaders in innovation.

The group of educators included high school principals and representatives from Tsinghua University, a major research university in Beijing. They received a tour of Interlake High School, visited several classrooms and watched as students in one of the CTE classrooms using welding torches. They also visited a CTE greenhouse where students were tending to a living green classroom. The visiting educators were excited to note some of the similarities and differences between their learning environments in Beijing and at Interlake.
