For the convenience of our students and families, in-person mental health services will be moving to school buildings. This Thursday, February 11, is the last day BSD will offer drop-in mental health services at Highland Middle School. Please contact your school to get information about the in-person services available and how to access them. Contact information for all BSD schools is on the BSD website.

Student mental health continues to be one of the top priorities across the district. Counselors are available for students experiencing socio-emotional difficulties.

BSD is also offering two unique opportunities for students who need support:

Middle School: Virtual Wellness and Resiliency Group

This is a great opportunity for students to learn new skills and strategies to deal with the stress they may be experiencing during the ongoing pandemic or just with life in general. Some of the topics that will be explored include managing strong emotions, building healthy relationships, coping with stress and more. This group is led by the BSD virtual health assistance team and University of Washington doctoral student interns. Sign up for the Middle School Wellness and Resilience Group

High School: Agents of Change

BSD will offer a virtual 10-week Agents of Change group for high school students. This group is inspired by Source of Strength, a strength-based wellness program that encourages students to individually assess and develop strengths in their lives and focuses on connectivity, school bonding, peer-adult partnerships and help seeks behaviors. The group is open to BSD students with a history of depression, suicidal ideation and/or substance abuse. Agents of Change will meet weekly via Zoom on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning February 23. Sign up for the High School Agents of Change Group
