With students and educators returning to our school buildings for in-person learning, BSD’s Safety and Security Department provided emergency response training for members of our custodial staff. The multi-day, 16-hour training covered the life-safety topics of Active Threat Response, Suspicious Activity Reporting, CPTED Principles, Incident Command System, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical, and Search and Rescue Operations. This is the most extensive training offered by our Safety and Security Department and is unique to custodial staff members. It not only helps to ensure student and staff safety, but it also equips our exceptional custodial staff to provide courageous support!

Our custodial staff are part of our Education Support Professionals who we are honoring during Education Support Professionals Week! Join us in thanking them for the support they provide to our schools and our students!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
