The Bellevue High School Wolverines (14-0) added to their collection of 3A state football championships on Saturday, December 4, 2021, by defeating the Kennewick Lions (12-2) at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup. In a very close match-up, and contending with steady rain throughout the game, the Wolverines thrilled their crowd of fans with their punishing running game and tenacious defense. Congratulations to the Bellevue High School community, Head Coach Michael Kneip and his coaching staff, and especially the players. Coach Kneip said about his team, “This is just one of those special moments you can’t pay for.” Kneip took over the program in 2018 after winning four state titles as a player. “We enjoyed every second of it and I’m so happy for these kids. They are such good kids. We’re just the hardest-working team in the state and our seniors had everything to do with that.”
