Community support for the 2020 Capital Bond Project made it possible to start a three-year plan to reshape, remodel and rebuild several Newport High School campus areas. With construction underway, the Newport Knight community will eventually have a new weight room, expanded CTE and music classrooms, and an enlarged common area for all students. This timeline and renderings of each area under construction provide details on the progress to date. We are proud of our students and their accomplishments and know the improvements to our buildings will reflect our commitment to their hard work.

ReBUILDing Made Possible by Bellevue Voters

Since 2002, the Bellevue community has supported our students and schools by rebuilding and remodeling our school facilities to ensure that Bellevue maintains the high-quality schools our community expects. Voters approved a capital bond in the February 11, 2020, election to address aging schools’ needs, improve safety and add classroom space.

When Bellevue voters approve a capital bond, BSD can sell bonds for funding up front for major construction projects, which are paid back over time. This local investment is critical because the state does not provide enough funding for construction or significant renovations of schools. In our next BUILDing BSD update, we’ll feature Puesta del Sol and share the latest developments in that construction project. Visit the BSD Bond page to learn more about projects at some of our other schools.
