This notice is notification of Bellevue School District destruction procedure per Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 392-172A-05235, “Each school district shall inform parents and adult students when personally identifiable information collected, maintained or used in compliance with this chapter is no longer needed to provide educational services to the student, or is no longer required to be retained under state or federal law.”  

Upon six (6) years from separation of special education services through the Bellevue School District student’s special education records will be destroyed. Examples of separation of services include, but are not limited to, graduation, no longer qualifying for services, revocation of services or no longer living within the school district boundaries. BSD special education records of BSD students who have separated from the BSD special education department December 31, 2015 and prior will be destroyed as of October 10, 2022 

Questions regarding BSD special education records or requests for copies of student special education records must be made in writing and requires proof of identification with a picture ID. Requests can be emailed to [email protected]
