4th Grade Hot Chocolate Fundraiser
Thank you all for your support of the Hot Chocolate Fundraiser over the last four weeks! It was a huge success, and the 4th grade boys showed great responsibility and ownership. Overall, they exceeded their goal and raised a total of $441.91 that will be donated to Seattle Children’s Hospital!!! 😊 Thank you to everyone for supporting this effort!
Students have been much more relaxed since completing the state test (SBA). As a result we have seen improved behavior on campus. One area we need to focus on more next year is the buses. Transportation addresses bus behavior but we want to partner with them more to see if we can improve student behavior.
We have seen a huge improvement in reduced bullying reports this year. Thank you to our parents for sharing information with the school about incidents that are happening between students. It has allowed us to intervene and make the school a much safer place for our students. The few reports we are getting seem to come from the buses so we will include that in our work with transportation next year.
Next year the school will focus more on Math instruction. We use the Math Expressions curriculum and we will be working to make our Math program more rigorous and ensure students are making progress using small group instruction more. In Literacy we will also focus on small group instruction to ensure students are meeting grade level standards in reading.
I am excited at a new initiative the district has taken for some of our Bellevue schools. Next year Ardmore will be getting a Computer Technical Specialist teacher. All students will be engaging in computational thinking and learning to code once a week for an additional specialist period!
Thank you for your support of your child taking the SBA test. This is a super challenging assessment for students. Results will come out to parents in the mail in late August once the state finalizes the scores.
We have made a lot of growth in our attendance this year. Thank you to all families who have worked so hard to ensure students are here every day and on-time so they can learn. Students who have met the goal of one absence a month on average (0-9 absences for the year ) will be acknowledged at the Last Day assembly. Also, students who have had perfect attendance (0 absences) will be receiving a certificate.
Car Drop Off and Pick Up
I really appreciate the way parents are using the parent drive through entrance more rather than parking your car or using the teacher area. The parking lot is much safer for our students.
Just a reminder – Ardmore is scheduled for a new Turf Field this summer. The installation will start right after school gets out and it will 6 weeks to complete. The field will be fenced off and not able to be used during this time.
