Dear Ardmore Community,
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year at Ardmore Elementary! I hope you have been enjoying a healthy and beautiful summer. For those that I have not had the pleasure to meet, my name is Brenda Arroyo, the new Principal of Ardmore Elementary. Along with our teachers and staff, I’m full of excitement for the year ahead and we can’t wait to see your children this fall!
My priority is to establish communication with our community that’ll ensure everyone stays informed about school happenings, news, and other pertinent information. This initial communication is intended to provide some general information regarding the start of the school year, including a few important dates. Later in August, we will provide detailed information on safety measures and school procedures during back-to-school orientations, and through additional emails, school newsletters and postings or videos on our website. In the meantime, please enjoy the rest of the summer and reach out to us if you have any questions. Our office is scheduled to open on August 16th.
First Day of School and Bell Times: The first day of school for students in Grades 1-5 is Wednesday, September 1st. The first day of school for Kindergarten is Friday, September 3rd. Class begins at 8:05 am each day. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays school ends at 2:35 pm. On Wednesdays, school ends at 12:15pm. As necessitated by ongoing safety and health guidelines, we will send out additional information with any recommended staggered arrival and dismissal by grade closer to the first day of school.

Class Placement: You will be notified of your child’s teacher/class placement via email on August 30th. If you do not receive this email, feel free to call the Ardmore office beginning on August 31st at 425.456.4700.
Back to School Orientation: We will host a virtual Back to School Orientation on Thursday, August 26th. There will be two identical sessions from 11 am-12pm and 7-8pm. We will also post the link to the recording of the orientation on our website for your reference.
Kindergarten Orientation: Kindergarten families – Depending on Health and Safety guidelines, we will determine if this year’s orientation will be in person. As soon as we work out the details, we will provide additional information on the time(s) of the orientation(s) and the safety expectations in a couple weeks. Stay tuned!
School Supplies: The week of August 9th, we will post the suggested school supply list for Ardmore. For the time being, please know that if you signed-up to receive a backpack and/or supplies last year, you will receive notification from our Family Connection Center.
If you are new to the community and need assistance with supplies or are a returning family in need of support this year, please email Ligia Calvo De Anleu at calvol@bsd405.org or call at 425-456-4703.
For those that sign up to receive school supplies through our Family Connections Center, those will be distributed at Ardmore elementary on August 23, 2021 and August 31, 2021.
Transportation: The Bellevue School District provides free transportation for students who reside within their school’s attendance area, but outside their school’s walking boundary. All elementary schools have a one-mile walk path boundary. The transportation department will mail home specific information about your child’s exact pick-up/drop-off location and times a few days before school starts. You are welcome to visit Transportation’s website for additional information: https://bsd405.org/departments/transportation/
Popsicles at the Park! Please join our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Lo and I for a popsicle at a park near you. We are eager to get to know our families, community, and students. If you have a moment, swing by to say hi and grab a treat! Our first social will be at ARMORE PARK on August 11, 2021 from 3:30-4:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
Please continue to stay tuned for more updates coming soon. I hope you will continue to enjoy the warm weather and summer break!
Sincerely,
Brenda Arroyo
