Principal Message:
Hello wonderful Ardmore Families,

It’s so hard to believe we are completing our last week of school, with only 4 days left in our 2021-22 school year.  It has been such a pleasure serving our Ardmore community.  The students and families are phenomenal.  Everyone has been extremely welcoming and supportive through such a complex year as we navigated COVID and a full return to school after two years.  Our students re-learned and build stamina to be back in school for all day learning.  We saw tremendous growth in our students from establishing key social skills for making new friends to attaining new academic skills in an accelerated manner.

Last week, teachers engaged in reflection by sharing bright spots this year, which gave us so much joy and inspiration.  Our first graders made significant gains in reading and many of them were so proud to meet reading standards.  To the point, we had one 1st grader come to the office to share he had reached his reading goal! We’ve had student make gains in their math learning and embraced our new way of doing math via Illustrative Math.  In many classes, we saw students jump in and share their thinking with classmates, taking educational risks and smiling while learning math! It was also so wonderful to see the growth of our 5th graders as leaders in student council.  We went from not sure why I’m here to them asking if we can meet every week.  During our weekly meetings, students came up with innovative ideas to build the culture of our school.  All students worked so hard to be great role models of our Ardmore 4 every day.  Towards the end of this year, I saw many students holding each other accountable and explaining to each other why it is important to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be a Learner.  Next year, we will begin by really emphasizing our Ardmore 4.

It wasn’t a perfect year, yet all our community persevered and got through some of the most challenging times.  I’m proud to close out this year strong and look forward to resetting this summer and continue serving this extraordinary community! Our families have been the key to success, and we are so grateful for our partnerships with you!  It’s such an honor to be here and partner with our wonderful staff and families to offer the best education our eagles deserve.

Summer Laptop Collection is coming!
We are collecting laptops at the end of the school year.

Students in 5th grade will receive a new laptop when they go to middle school.

Our returning students will receive their current laptop back when we begin school.

If any student is attending summer school, the technology department will prioritize returning these students laptops before it summer school begins.

Please reach out to your student’s teacher if you have any concerns regarding your child not having a school laptop over the summer.  We might be able to provide support!

Help students prepare for laptop collection:

  • Please remind students to save the files they want to keep for next year in their OneDrive and NOT their Desktops. Student Desktops are not linked to OneDrive. The taskbar cloud icon should be blue.
  • Do not remove any BSD Barcode labels.
  • Offensive and excessive amounts of stickers will need to be removed.

Nutrition Services
Nutrition Services Updates 2022-2023
As we prepare for the reopening of school on September 1, 2022, families should anticipate that free meals will no longer be available for all students attending a BSD school. With the expiration of USDA waivers at the end of this school year, Nutrition Services will return to traditional methods of payment for school meals (free, reduced price or paid).Look for the 2022-2023 application for school meal benefits online on the Free & Reduced Price Meals webpage by August 15, 2022.

New: Students determined to be eligible for reduced price school meals will be able to receive lunch for free. Due to new state funding, the $0.40 copay for a reduced price lunch will no longer be collected. Students eligible for reduced price school meals will continue to receive breakfast for free in schools that offer the program.
