|Dear and most amazing Ardmore Community,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Ardmore Elementary! I hope you have been enjoying a healthy and beautiful summer. For those that I have not had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Brenda Gasaway (formerly Brenda Arroyo), the Principal of Ardmore Elementary. This is the beginning of my 2nd year at Ardmore. Ardmore is such a wonderful place to be. Along with our teachers and staff, I’m full of excitement for the year ahead and we can’t wait to meet our students this fall!
This year, our theme is Better Together, because we know that great things are done in teams. Our staff is ready to challenge and offer an excellent education to each of our students. Our goal is empower students to be creators of their future world. Therefore, you will see us instilling in them every day #EaglePower!
My priority is to establish clear communication with our community that’ll ensure everyone stays informed about school happenings, news, and other pertinent information. This initial communication is intended to provide general information regarding the start of the school year, including important dates. I will send a newsletter the first and 3rd Thursday of every month via email and attached link to a text message. I hope you will make sure to read each one!
Our school is currently open from 8-3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please call or stop by if you need support with anything.
With love and appreciation,

|When students return to school in September:
|Nutrition Services Updates 2022-2023:|
|As we prepare for the reopening of school on September 1, 2022, families should anticipate that free meals will no longer be available for all students attending a BSD school. With the expiration of USDA waivers at the end of this school year, Nutrition Services will return to traditional methods of payment for school meals (free, reduced price or paid).
Look for the 2022-2023 application for school meal benefits online on the Free & Reduced Price Meals webpage by August 15, 2022.
New: Students determined to be eligible for reduced price school meals will be able to receive lunch for free. Due to new state funding, the $0.40 copay for a reduced price lunch will no longer be collected. Students eligible for reduced price school meals will continue to receive breakfast for free in schools that offer the program.
|Right At School Program 2022-2023 School Year:|
|Ardmore will continue to host a before and after school program. For more details, see flyers attached or go to WWW.RIGHTATSCHOOL.COM/DISTRICTS/BELLEVUE-WA/ for more information.|
|Seeking School Volunteers:|
|Students often need help finding their new class, navigating the lunch line, or finding their bus in the first few weeks of school. We need a few parent volunteers for fun, easy, and short shifts to help the kids get where they’re going:
Here’s how to sign up:

Free COVID-19 Rapid Test Kits for BSD Students and Staff:
|BSD will be distributing free COVID-19 at-home rapid test kits to students and staff who would like to test before returning to school. COVID-19 testing allows people to take precautions in a timely manner to help prevent the virus from spreading. Tests will be distributed from ESC West, Room 100 at the following times:
This information will be added to the Drive-Thru Diagnostic Testing webpage and will be shared in an e-newsletter to all BSD staff and families next week.
