Announcing the Hindi Language Program @ Ardmore Elementary School

In the upcoming school year, we will introduce Korean and Hindi languages to incoming kindergarten students; these are in addition to the Arabic language program already at Ardmore. It’s important to note that these bilingual programs are open to ALL students.

The Hindi Bilingual Program will be located at Ardmore Elementary School. This program is available for incoming kindergarten student starting in the 2024-25 school year. Enrollment is open to both in-district and out-of-district students.

We warmly invite all families, whether you reside in our district or not, to join us for special family information nights on Tuesday, December 12th from 5:30-6:30 at Ardmore. More information and brochure are coming out soon.

Active Threat Drill 11/28/2023

We conducted an Active Threat Drill today and practiced what we would do if there was a threat/intruder – at our school. Students learned about the importance of listening to school staff and following instructions quickly and quietly. We also practiced assessing our environment and making decisions to keep us safe.

Please remember that a Active Threat drill is considered a preventative measure.

Please talk to your child about our drill today. Be sure to listen and let them lead the conversation. An important next step in your family preparedness might be to talk about how what your child learned in the drill can help them stay safe in other situations.

For more information on talking to your child about school safety, you might want to visit the website https://www.mhanational.org/talking-kids-about-school-safety.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Dear Ardmore Families,

As we approach the end of 2023, we are focusing on the joy, the unique talents and wealth of knowledge each student contributes to our community. We were so excited to see the different talents and interests our students showcased during our last family event and want to continue to build the sense of agency in our students to become creators of their future world.  Watch this video that captured highlights of the event:

Arrival and Dismissal Reminders

When dropping off your students for school please stay safe by following our Safety Rules:

Doors unlock at 7:35 am. Students are not supervised before then.

When dropping off or picking up from the Car Zone, please remain in your car.

If arriving after the Tardy Bell please visit the Main Office for a classroom pass.

Do not leave your car unattended in the Car Zone.

Always drive slowly and mindfully in the parking lot.

Do not walk between busses! It is hard for the drivers to see you from the driver’s deck.

Always use the crosswalk when walking on campus.

Thank you very much.  If you have any other suggestions please let us know.

Dress Code

At school we want students to feel comfortable and safe.  We also want students to express themselves through their clothing of choice.  There is no specific dress code but we ask students to not wear clothes that use graphics or language that is inappropriate for school.  Please see here for more information:  BSD Dress Code Policy

As a safety reminder, flip slops and other unenforced sandals are not safe for school because they come off easily during physical play at recess.  In the case of an emergency evacuation for safety, we need students to run alongside the teachers.  Sandals will cause tripping and falling behind.  Please be mindful of this consideration.
