Step 1: Annual Online Student Verification & Attendance Policy Agreement

Update student information through the online student verification process beginning August 23, 2023. Synergy ParentVue provides parents and guardians the ability to view the student assignments, grades and attendance. When logging on to update student information in August, a prompt will remind parents/guardians to acknowledge the yearly attendance agreement.

Current BSD Families:

Make sure to update your email address and the language you prefer to receive messages. This will ensure you are kept up to date throughout the year about district news and events.

Step 5: Health and Safety

Review the district’s Required Health Forms webpage to ensure a healthy start to the school year.

Step 6: Student Technology

Student device handouts/pick-ups are handled by individual schools in partnership with the district technology team. Students are reminded to bring their stylus, computer charger and bag on their school’s scheduled computer distribution day. Check for communication from your school in August with the date and time for device pick-up.

Elementary Student Devices

This June all elementary student devices will be collected in order to organize, clean, and reimage them.

Secondary Student Devices

Only current 8th and 12th graders will return their laptops, chargers, and styluses in June. All other secondary students will keep their laptops over the summer. Students should address any repair issues prior to the last day of school. This will help ensure their laptops are fixed in time for the start of the 2023-24 school year.

Step 10: Calendars

Stay on top of events and activities. Plan for important dates. Celebrate the cultures, traditions, and significant days for our community.

Taking Care of Business Days, Teacher Meet and Greets, Elementary Playdates and Start and Dismissal Times

Schools will schedule events to welcome back families prior to the start of the school year. These events often take place in August and will be shared by individual school building leaders later in the summer. Check your email and your school website for updated information.

In mid-August, the district rolls over systems to prepare for the new academic year. This sometimes reveals a DRAFT of student schedules or homeroom placements. Families should be reminded that anything they may see should be considered a draft until their schools communicate that placements are finalized. This will take place just prior to the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Because sharing inaccurate information may create unnecessary confusion as placements continue to be adjusted, families are discouraged to share draft placements or schedules with students or other families prior to finalized schedules being announced near August 31.

Find the start and dismissal time for your school. All schools release early on Wednesdays to allow teachers and school teams time to plan, collaborate and train.

School Supplies

BSD schools will not require students to purchase any required school supplies for the 2023-24 school year. If there are any school items recommended for students, individual school buildings will inform families about these optional items.

Enjoy your summer and see you in September! #WeAreBellevue

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
