Good afternoon,

It was an exciting first two days of school last week!  I hope you are all enjoying this three-day weekend and getting a little rest and relaxation.  Tomorrow we’ll be back again, please read down for updates and important information.

Student Schedules: Our counselors are working double time to make sure every student has a full schedule and to correct obvious errors.  There is more work to be done.  Please know that out counseling team will respond to your email as soon as they can.  At this point, they need to spend all available energy toward making adjustment to individual schedules.


Synchronous and Asynchronous Learning Time: Students will continue to meet with their full classes in the morning (synchronous time) and experience a variety of instructional opportunities in the afternoon (asynchronous time).  Asynchronous instruction is defined as a remote instructional setting in which the whole class is not learning together; this time may include small group or individual instruction with adult support.  Students will access learning opportunities that may be offline or online.  Once we’ve had some time to adjust and correct student schedules, small groups will be scheduled and predictable, and offline or independent tasks will be offered that can be completed at times convenient for the family.  Learning tasks and activities offered during asynchronous time are required and students are expected to participate and engage.  Teachers have the autonomy and authority to make adjustments to their assignments and timelines to ensure that no student is harmed during the temporary remote learning period or other constraints they may face outside of their control.


Attendance:  Teachers will take attendance during morning synchronous learning times and during Wednesday asynchronous learning times.


Textbooks and Materials: At this time, textbooks and materials will be distributed beginning the week of September 14th.  Mr. Gangle will send out detailed information soon with times and direction for this to occur.  Our priority remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families.


Pictures and Yearbooks:  2020 Yearbooks will be available toward the end of this month and students will be able to pick those up outside school.  We are tentatively planning to coordinate pictures at the same time.  Stay tuned for more information coming your way soon.

LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION                                           

If you still need a laptop, you may pick your up at Newport High School on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  If you need further assistance with picking up your laptop please contact Assistant Principal, Thomas Gangle, at

This year, all forms, information and applications are available online.  By making these available online, parents will be able to access the forms and information when it is most convenient for them.  It is important that all families use the list of links below to ensure a smooth start to the school year for their student.

The Online Student Data Verification process for the 2020-21 school year started on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. This is only for families of students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 12 (preschool students are not included in this process). If you are also a parent in the district, on August 19 you can update your student’s information by signing into ParentVUE to update information. The first time you log in, you will be directed to data verification.

Parents can:

  • Update your address online and provide the required proofs of address electronically
  • Update your primary email address for district and school communications
  • Update your student’s demographic data
  • Manage your student’s emergency contact list
  • Update your student’s photo permissions




Bellevue PTSA is committed to helping students, teachers and staff succeed during these extraordinary times. We can’t predict how COVID-19 will impact the school experience this year but we are expecting both new and ongoing requests for support. We are working to make the greatest impact possible on the Bellevue High community and provide support where it’s most needed. Your membership will likely support distance learning and the need to modify in-class teaching, increased social and emotional student support, staff appreciation, academic and college application support, and many other programs. Due to COVID 19, the Fall Athletics season for ALL Fall Sports will begin on March 1st, 2021 with the exception of football beginning on February 17th, 2021. A complete calendar of start and finish dates can be found on our district website here.

All Athletics programs will require all forms to be completed on FinalForms including an up to date physical clearance form and for sports that more physical a concussion protocol ImPACT test. ImPACT testing will resume as soon possible.
