Dear Bellevue Students and Families,

As Principal Anderson noted in last evening’s email, Bellevue High School is postponing our textbook/materials distribution until next week, September 21-25. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but due to the unhealthy air quality expected through the middle of the week, we feel it prudent to not ask staff to work outside for multiple hours. Additionally, the option of moving this week’s distribution indoors would likely mean that students would need to stand outside for longer than acceptable periods of time given the current conditions. Again, we are truly sorry for any issues this postponement may cause for you and/or your families but appreciate your understanding while we continue to operate with the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff in the forefront of our thoughts. Please note the new distribution schedule below:

Pick Up Protocol

Please make every attempt to arrive during your designated time in the schedule.

  • We will be distributing textbooks/materials outside, via a drive thru pick up process. We made this decision to help ensure the safety of students and staff. If a student is unable to drive/be driven onto campus, we will accommodate them, but the process may take a bit longer for them.
  • Distribution will occur in the lower east parking lot, outside the lower auxiliary gym, and just north of the tennis courts.
  • There will be two vehicle entry points onto campus:
    • The first will be off Bellevue Way SE, up SE Wolverine Way. If using this entry, please drive up through the student drop off area, continuing on towards 108th Ave SE. As you get near the Lower East Lot, there will be staff members available to direct you further.
    • The second vehicle entry point will be the northeast entrance off 108th Ave SE. If entering at this point, please continue up the hill and follow the directions of the BHS staff member at the entrance to the Lower East Lot.
    • The only exit off campus will be the southeast exit out of the Lower East Lot. As we are not allowing vehicles to enter at this point, you will be able to turn right or left onto 108th Ave SE.
    • If you must walk on campus to retrieve textbooks/materials, please simply ask the first staff member you encounter where to go. They can direct you from there.
  • In order to facilitate a smooth distribution, please have the following ready prior to pulling up to the first pick up station:
    • Class Schedule: This will allow teachers to determine the specific textbook you need. These can be printed out prior to arriving on campus or brought up on a cell phone. *If you are a parent picking up items for a student, please have a printout or screen shot of this ready prior to pulling up to a check out station.
    • Student School ID and/or ID tag from laptop: Both items have barcodes that will allow staff to quickly determine who you are and check out materials much quicker. Last year’s School ID cards will still work for this purpose.
    • 8 ½ x 11 inch sheet of paper with the student ID # clearly written/printed on it: This will allow us to check an item out to you quicker and/or look you up should we need to determine the correct book needed.
  • Staff will be present to direct you as you arrive to the Lower East Lot. Please follow their directions, as they are there to help ensure your safety.
    • Students should pick up their items without leaving their vehicles. (All visitors must stay in cars)
    • Masks are required at all times while on campus, even if you are remaining in your vehicle.
    • If walking onto campus, you must wear a mask, and maintain appropriate physical distancing.

*If anyone in your family has COVID-19 symptoms, or has had contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, or is still in their isolation period for testing positive for COVID-19 do NOT pick up materials at this time and contact your school to make alternate arrangement.

If you have any questions/concerns regarding textbook/material distribution, please contact Assistant Principal, Thomas Gangle, at, or (425) 456-7003.”
