jrBellevue Big Picture high school student Justice Richards recently completed his internship with the Bellevue Fire Department. He was recognized for beginning the work of preserving the history of the department in digital format.

“Fire Explorer Justice Richards worked to help our department with our 50 years of photo processing. Justice reviewed thousands of slides and photos to start putting our history into a digital format. Justice also was able to make a presentation at Career Day and discuss his dream of working in the fire service with the students at his school.” (excerpt from the April 2014 Bugle, a Bellevue Fire Department publication)

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
