As the school year ends, we would like to retrieve the district items you have been using during remote learning and give you an opportunity to pick up any personal items you have left at school.  Your health and well-being are our primary concerns.  As such, we will be following state guidelines and physical distancing during this process.

The exchanges will take place via your vehicle in the student drop-off/pick-up zones.  To manage traffic flow, we are scheduling families for specific times alphabetically.

We ask that you look for the following items in preparation:

  • Textbooks and classroom reading books
  • Library books
  • Laptops, power cords, stylus’, laptop bags and hot spots if you are not participating in summer opportunities. If you are taking a Summer School completion/credit retrieval course through the district you may keep your laptop through July and will need to return it after summer school ends.
  • Graphing calculators

You can see specific items that have been checked out to your students, by accessing your students Destiny account:

Please note that this will not be a complete list as some items are not tracked via the Destiny system.

Drop Off/Pick Up Protocol:

Before you arrive to Big Picture School, please make sure that any items you are returning are accessible to you in the front passenger seat, as well as your Check-in Form. As you pull into the school driveway you will be met by a greeter who will keep their distance outside of your car and will:

  1. Ask you for your last name.
  2. Ask you if you need to retrieve items from the locker room.
  3. Verify that you have brought and completed your Check-in Form.

The greeter will then direct you to the drop off stations. If you do not have your form, you will be given one to complete and directed into the first parking lot (the staff parking lot) to complete the form. If you need to retrieve items from your student’s PE locker, you will also be directed into the staff parking lot to park. Once you have visited the locker room, please return to your car, you will then drive to the end of the driveway (the entrance to the school) where you will rejoin the line to the drop-off zone. When you reach the drop-off station, please pull up next to the table, roll down your window and place your items on the table. We need to see that you have the laptop, charger and stylus so please have the laptop bag open, show us those items, then close and place on the table. Please remain in your car.  We ask that you separate your items into the following groupings for easier gathering:

  1. Library books
  2. Textbooks and other classroom materials by grade level (teacher’s name)
  3. Technology items

We will double check on our lists that you have returned all checked out items.

If you are walking to the school, please see the greeter and they can direct you through the process.  Please wear a mask.

Once finished at the station, cars will exit the parking lot through the back gate and must turn RIGHT.

Locker Room Procedure – Make sure that you have a bag for locker contents and your student’s locker combination.

As you pull into the school you will be met by a greeter who will ask you if your student needs to access their PE locker to retrieve any personal items or items that need to be returned to the school.  If that is the case, you will be directed to park so your student can go to their locker.  Your student may be accompanied by one adult if necessary.  All people accessing the building will be asked to wear a mask and gloves, if you do not have a mask or gloves, they will be provided for you. Students will be let into the locker rooms one at a time to retrieve items and will remove locks and place in a bucket upon leaving the locker room. Remember to practice social distancing while on campus.  Please plan appropriately.

When your student returns to the car, the greeter will then direct you to the drop off stations.
