In previous years we have sent home novels for incoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to read over the summer. Due to our current environment, we will not be sending books home with students. Even though students will not have a book provided by the district, we highly recommend students continue reading books of their choice over the summer. Below are resources to help students find books for summer reading. All our students have KCLS library cards and access to these books through both the library portal and the district app, Sora (Link to instructions below).

What are some recommended books and summer reading ideas?

Thank you for continuing to encourage and support students to read over the summer!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
