Cherry Crest Families,

It’s hard for me to believe, but the last day of school is Friday!   Wow! Where did the time go?  Regardless, I want to share my thanks and appreciation for a strong finish to a great school year.  It is a privilege and honor to lead our teachers and staff in serving and educating your children.  Thank you for entrusting us with that huge responsibility. As summer dawns, I am looking forward to some downtime and vacation with my wife and kids. As in years past, we are packing up our travel trailer for July trips to the Olympic Peninsula as well as a new adventure to Bend, Oregon.  As excited as I am for vacation, I also have an eye toward August and the upcoming school year.  I eagerly anticipate meeting new students and families and building upon relationships from this year.  So, wherever you go and whatever you may do this summer, I wish you and your family the best of times and wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

Have a great summer!

Thank you for taking a few moments to read the important dates and announcements in the parent newsletter below.

Have a great week!

Math: Dreambox is still available over the summer. Students can easily practice independently on this site/any other you like or with a workbook. Try looking on amazon, at half-priced books or Lakeshore learning.

The City of Bellevue is seeking travel data on how students travel to and from school to help us evaluate our strategies for the Bellevue SchoolPool program, which aims to reduce drop-off and pick-up congestion at schools.  Please take a moment to complete the  short, five-question survey for each school-aged child prior to Friday, June 28, 2019. It takes less than three minutes to complete.

The school year is almost over and the Bellevue Schools Foundation still needs to raise $40,000 to support technology curriculum and teacher training. Donations will support innovative programs such as Rocketry, Robotics and Maker Spaces in our schools. Every gift made before the end of the school year will be matched by The Dean Witter Foundation, up to $10,000. The kids would love your support, please donate here http://www.bellevueschoolsfoundation.org/donate/

Cherry Crest Elementary prepares all students to become life-long learners through inquiry, collaboration, and discovery.  Each student will feel a sense of belonging in our Comm(UNITY) while learning social-emotional and academic skills to be successful in an ever-changing and diverse society.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
