Kodiak News is a monthly student-produced show for Chinook Middle School.  It is a collaboration effort primarily produced by our Film/Video Club members and includes contributions from our Video Production, Media Technology and Python Coding Classes.  Ms. Cosacchi is the advisor.  This segment includes: 1. Jazz Band Swing Dance – Friday May 27th at BHS, 7-10 PM 

Chinook Jazz 1, plus the two fantastic, award winning Bellevue High School Jazz Bands, are putting on their annual Swing Dance for your enjoyment.  Remember, BHS is almost entirely Chinook graduates, so you’ll recognize many of those faces as well!  We will be in the Bellevue High School Commons.  Free Admission—donations accepted. Families and friends are welcome, so bring ‘em all. 

News from the Library

All books checked out from our school library are due back on Friday, June 3rd. Please, bring them to the library during lunch, tutorial and passing periods.

How do I know if I have library books to return?

  • go to
  • log in, Destiny Discover will open
  • click on My Stuff (top buttons)
  • click on Checkouts, and fines to see current check-outs and overdue books
  • bring the books to the library and
  • Textbooks/books checked out to you in the classroom should be returned to your teacher.

Yearbook Pre-Orders June 6 to June 21 – While supplies last! 

You can pre-order your 2021-22 Yearbook at the Chinook office or online at TouchBase Signin (  Yearbooks are delivered to student the last week of school. Yearbooks are $25.  Please contact your counselor if you would like a scholarship for the yearbook.

 Kodiak Prize Store – Raffle for AirPods Pro 

We are reaching the end of our 2021-22 school year and Behavior Points will not carry over to next year.  We will not be re-stocking the store but you now have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets for 10 points each.  The raffle prize is a set of AirPods Pro!  Don’t miss your chance to take these home.  Raffle will be held on Monday, June 13th. 

8th Grade Graduation Party – Monday, June 20, 7-9PM

  • This event will include a DJ, digital photo booth, food and games!
  • Permission slips available in front of the Main Office
  • Entrance is FREE for all 8th grade students (only Chinook 8th graders)
  • Drop-off/pick-up at the main entrance

8th Grade Student Athletes 

Are you planning to participate in Bellevue High School sports during the summer or next school year?  If so, you will need to do Concussion – ImPACT testing at BHS at 1:30pm in the Commons on any Wednesday from April 27 until June 15.  No preregistration required.  Students must bring their charged laptop.

Lost & Found – Please check for your missing items, especially water bottles, lunch boxes and LOTS of jackets and sweatshirts.  Each classroom also has a Lost & Found if you are still missing an item.  All Lost & Found will be donated to Charity at the end of the school year.
