The 2024 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on, June 17, at 12:30 PM at Chinook Middle School.

All Chinook 8th grade students are invited to participate in the promotion ceremony. They will have the opportunity to walk across the stage and receive a promotion certificate.

Schedule for Students

  • Students will have 1st and 2nd period classes as usual.
  • Rehearsal activities will begin during 3rd period. All 8th grade students are expected to attend the rehearsal to participate in the Recognition Assembly.

Backpacks and Attire

  • Backpacks are not permitted at the assembly. Students should leave extra items at home. They will not need their binders or other school supplies.
  • Students are encouraged to dress up for the Recognition Assembly. Attire should be appropriate as defined by Bellevue School District Policy 3224P Student Dress.

Ceremony Duration

The ceremony will last approximately 1½-2 hours. After the ceremony, students may go home with their families or remain on campus until the end of day. Afternoon classes will not be held for 8th graders.

Tickets

No tickets are required for the ceremony. However, due to limited space, please limit attendance to 2-3 guests per 8th grade student. Doors open for seating at 12:00 PM, please do not arrive before 12:00 PM.

Siblings

Siblings that attend Chinook must have a parent note submitted to our attendance specialist at [email protected] by Monday, June 10, to be excused from class. Please be aware that seating is limited.

Parking

  • On-campus parking is limited.
  • Additional parking is available at Bellevue Christian School and the Clyde Hill Community Center.
  • Please adhere to all posted parking restrictions on campus and the surrounding neighborhood.
  • The Bus Zone behind the school must remain clear.

Final School Day, June 18

On Tuesday, June 18, the final day of school will be two hours long, 7:45-9:45 AM. While this is an official school day, there will be no tests, projects, or classwork. 8th grade students are welcome to attend.

We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our 8th graders and their families!
