Greetings Chinook Middle School Community,

On Thursday, we will conduct a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring student safety. During the drill, staff and students will follow established procedures: locking classroom doors, turning off lights, closing blinds, and continually assessing the situation. Depending on the circumstances, we will practice transitioning to run, hide, or fight responses.

At Chinook Middle School, the safety of our students is our top priority. To be well-prepared for any emergency, we conduct monthly school-wide drills, including lockdowns, evacuations, drop-cover-hold, and shelter-in-place exercises. These practices are essential for everyone to know how to respond effectively in real situations.

For more detailed information about our safety and security preparations, please visit the BSD website here.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

In Partnership,

James Peterson

Principal

In Case You Missed It

Bellevue Schools Foundation: Donate to Dedicate

Bellevue Schools Foundation is offering the opportunity to make a donation in honor of a teacher or staff member, which will not only trigger an acknowledgement to the individual the gift is made in honor of, but it will also provide critical resources to our school, as well as the other 27 schools across Bellevue School District. I encourage you to consider this special chance to make an impact in our classrooms AND express your gratitude to any teacher and/or staff member whose efforts you want to acknowledge! Share Your Feedback: Transportation Survey

The Bellevue School District’s Safety and Security and Transportation departments are working closely with Bellevue Police and Transportation departments to tackle traffic congestion and safety concerns around our schools.

Transportation Forums were held in person on April 25 and online on May 1. If you were unable to attend, we’d still like to hear from you!  Please complete our transportation survey by May 31.

Visit the Transportation Survey webpage to learn more about what BSD is doing to help families choose sustainable transportation options and address safety concerns.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
