Chinook’s 5th Grade Parent Information Night

5th grade families with students considering attending Chinook Middle School next fall are invited to our Parent Information Night on Wednesday, January 16. Due to the revised timeline for Open Enrollment in the Bellevue School District this year, this event has been moved up to provide families who are considering alternatives to their neighborhood school the opportunity to learn more about Chinook and the opportunities offered at this school.

The presentation starts at 6:30 PM and will conclude at 8:00. Come learn about the curriculum, different school programs, and amazing electives offered at Chinook. This is not a required event for students who are planning on attending Chinook next year but all are invited to get a brief look into the unique elective programs that are offered. Students are welcome to join families if they would like.

The agenda for the evening is:

6:00 – 6:30          Music performances in the Commons while families arrive

6:30 – 6:45          Principal introduction

Elective rotations for families to learn about various programs in Creative Writing, Art & Drama, Music, Career and Technical Education, PE, and World Languages.

6:50 – 7:00          Rotation 1

7:05 – 7:15          Rotation 2

7:20 – 7:30          Rotation 3

7:35 – 7:45          Rotation 4

7:50 – 8:00          Rotation 5

This evening will not contain information about registering for specific classes. Once the Open Enrollment period ends and families have determined which middle school they will attend next year, the registration process will begin March 11 for 5th grade students. Information will be sent out at that time.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
