Teacher Wish List
Your child’s teacher will visit the Book Fair and select titles for the classroom. We’ll have book plates on-hand so you or your child can personalize your gift!
Join us and BSD Social Emotional Curriculum Developer, Rani Peterson, to hear about the newly added lessons on child protection and how to talk with your child about important safety issues. The session will focus on information about parent resources and the necessary skills for talking with your child about these difficult issues.
Please join us for our multi-lingual parent coffee on December 10th from 8:00-9:30 in the library. The speaker for this informational coffee will be Mr. Ryan Wahlberg, our English Language Learning Teacher. Mr. Wahlberg will provide information about how to access the ELL program here at Clyde Hill and he will talk about the upcoming assessment for ELL students that will take place in February. He will also talk about student progress reports and how we should view student progress when children are learning a new language. Lastly, he will share some parenting tips on how to support your child as he/she continue to develop and acquire a second language. We hope to see you on the 10th of December
If you are new to Clyde Hill and are one of our many families that speak English as a second language we invite you to have coffee with many other new families and hear from our Principal, Mary Olin, about how we can support your transition to Clyde Hill. This first meeting will focus on how important systems work to support your child, how to access a variety of services including ELL and gifted, and information about our very active Parent, Teacher Association (PTA) and how you can be involved.
Other meetings are scheduled for December 10th and March 10th. All multi-lingual Coffees are translated into Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean. We would very much like to add other languages, so please let us know if you would be interested in helping with translation services.
