Eastgate Staff Updates

The end of the school year always brings staff changes. We want to take a minute to thank a few staff who joined us this year but may not be at Eastgate next year. A huge thank you to Cathi Hervey and Lexie Keatley. Ms. Hervey joined the 5th grade team after the start of the school year as we moved from 3 classes to 4. We are forever grateful with how quickly she jumped in and helped with the transition for students and families. Ms. Keatley covered the maternity leave for Ms. Parsons. She was able to participate in many parent/teacher conferences, demonstrated flexibility and commitment when Ms. Parsons needed to go on leave early, and during our remote learning time. A huge thank you to Ms. Hervey and Ms. Keatley for the many, many ways they contributed to Eastgate this year!

Also, we are incredibly sad to say goodbye to 1st grade teacher, Robin Forsman after 21 years of teaching at Eastgate. In a staff goodbye to Ms. Forsman, many commented on how much they will miss Ms. Forsman’s smile, laughter, and dedication to each of her students. Below is a note from Ms. Forsman to all of the families she has worked with over the years. Thank you, Ms. Forsman. We will miss you!

Additional staffing information and grade level teaching assignments will be sent to families in early August. Class placement information will be sent out via email the end of August.

Dear Eastgate Families,

I hope this finds you and your loved ones well. After 21 years of teaching at Eastgate I have accepted a position in our neighborhood school district in the Snoqualmie Valley. I am very excited to be closer to home and I’m looking forward to all that this next chapter of my life has to offer.

Of course, I am saddened to leave the incredible Eastgate community that I’ve grown so attached to over the years. I’ve been so fortunate to have been embraced by so many families. These relationships will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you to so many of you for sharing your children with me. Please give them HUGE hugs from me and I hope our paths will cross again someday.

Very Fondly,

Robin Forsman

If you have a district laptop and were unable to return it, please drop it by Sammamish High School, 11:00-2:00, Monday-Friday. Unless your child is registered for district Summer School, they must return their laptop.
