As we reach the middle of March, this newsletter focuses on Enatai Elementary School’s upcoming Spirit Week, action being taken on the Grade 3-5 Intent Survey, and the Family Engagement Survey.
Spirit Week – It’s Happening Next Week!
Enatai Spirit Week: We’ve got spirit, yes we do!
Next week, March 15th-March 19th, is our schoolwide spirit week for all classes virtual and in person!
Has your child received their PTSA sponsored Enatai Eagle Shirt? If they haven’t gotten one, you can pick up at the main office during school hours or we can deliver to your home if needed (email Ali Sameti at email@example.com for a delivery).
Below you will find an outline of each day’s theme.
Whether we are together in person or online, Enatai Eagles show school pride. If your student chooses to participate and would like to share their spirit with our Enatai community, please send a picture of them participating to their teacher or Mrs. Kazarian Olson (firstname.lastname@example.org).
PLEASE KNOW that if you submit your student’s picture it will be shared with our Enatai community.
Spirit Week Tuesday Trivia Night!
Are you ready for a night of nonsensical trivia with Mr. Tyler and Mrs. Kazarian Olson? Jump into your comfiest clothes and log in to our Teams to have a hoot with a Kahoot! Please log into one account if you have multiple eagles to ensure that more families can join in on the fun!
When: 3/16 at 5PM

K-1 iPad Charging
An Update from our Instructional Technology Curriculum Coach:
We are getting reports that iPads are not charging, or only charging partially. The school issued iPad chargers are the low wattage chargers. If you are noticing that your child’s iPad is not fully charging or only reaching a 20% charge, it is recommended that you turn off the iPad and charge it when it is not in use. It has been noticed that these chargers do not run the iPad and charge the battery well at the same time.
Grade 3-5 Intent Survey
Thank you to everyone who has completed the Grades 3-5 Intent Survey. While we do not have dates set yet for the return of students in grades 3-5, we can share with you that we are using the information we have received to plan for the movement of students between hybrid and virtual classes. Because movement to virtual classes depends on space available both at Enatai and other elementary schools, we are now working in partnership with other schools to help students be placed in the model of instruction requested by families, hybrid or virtual. The switch date for students moving classes will be determined centrally as this process may involve moving students between schools for placement in virtual classes. Additionally, we are working to develop balanced AM and PM classes while also ensuring siblings are in the same section of the day. As we learn more about the return plan for grades 3-5, we will email families regarding AM/PM assignments.
Family Engagement Survey
The Bellevue School District is conducting a survey on family engagement in order to strengthen relationships between schools and families. Creating meaningful partnerships with parents helps students succeed both academically and socially. When families engage, student attitudes and behavior are more positive, attendance is better, there are more opportunities to honor diverse cultural backgrounds, and open communication allows us to learn from each other. The survey opens on February 23, 2021 when families receive an email with a unique survey link from our survey platform (Panorama Education). Families will receive an email and survey for each school where they have a child enrolled, which means they may receive multiple surveys. They will be asked to answer the survey based on the experience of their oldest child in the school. The survey is only 12 questions and is available in multiple languages including English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Korean, Arabic, Amharic, Japanese and simplified Chinese. Survey results will once again be shared with all families in a BSD Family Engagement Report before next school year. Please see here for the 2019-2020 Family Engagement Report. School administrators will receive results for their individual schools in the Spring and work to continuously improve their family engagement practices.
As this newsletter comes to a close, we just want to share how excited we are to have our PreK – 2nd grade students back 4 days per week starting on Monday, March 15th! Our Enatai students attending in-person classes are doing a fantastic job wearing masks and have improved so much in learning how to be socially distanced in the classroom and moving about the school.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Until next week!
