¿Qué es el Comité Asesor del Programa de Idioma Español?
El comité Asesor del Programa del Idioma Español (SLPAC, por sus siglas en inglés) es un grupo de padres/madres/tutores legales de estudiantes que actualmente están inscritos en los programas de idioma español en los grados de jardín de infantes al doceavo.
What is the Spanish Language Program Advisory Committee?
The Spanish Language Program Advisory Committee (SLPAC) is a group of parents/legal guardians of children who are currently enrolled in the Spanish Dual Language and Spanish Immersion programs in grades kindergarten through 12th.
El propósito del SLPAC es:
- Proporcionar y recopilar múltiples perspectivas
- Proporcionar información al superintendente o designado
- Participar en aprendizaje compartido
The purpose of the SLPAC is to:
- Provide and gather multiple perspectives
- Provide input to the superintendent or designee
- Participate in shared learning
¿Por qué es importante?
Escuchar a nuestras familias sobre su experiencia en nuestro programa de idioma español nos ayuda a identificar formas de enriquecer la experiencia de nuestros estudiantes.
Why is it important?
Hearing from our families about their experience in our Spanish language programs helps us identify ways to enrich our students’ experience.
¿Quién es parte del SLPAC?
Los siguientes miembros componen el SLPAC:
- 2 padres/madres/tutores legales de cada escuela de Lenguaje Dual e Inmersión en español, con uno representando nuestra comunidad MLL de habla hispana dominante y el otro en representación de nuestra comunidad de estudiantes que están aprendiendo español como idioma adicional.
- 2 administradores escolares, uno en representación del Programa DL de español y el otro del Programa de inmersión en español.
- Personal de la oficina central de BSD
Who is part of the SLPAC?
The following members make up the SLPAC:
- 2 parents from each Spanish Dual Language and Immersion school, with one representing of them representing our Spanish-dominant MLL community, and the other one representing our non-MLL Spanish learners’ community.
- 2 School administrators, with one representing the Spanish DL Program, and the other one the Spanish Immersion Program.
- BSD central office staff
¿Cómo fue el proceso de selección de los miembros?
Se envió un formulario para identificar a las personas interesadas. Cada equipo escolar trabajó en colaboración con su PTSA para identificar a sus dos representantes.
What was the member selection process?
A form was sent out to identify interested inspaniduals. Each school team worked in collaboration with their PTSA in identifying their two representatives.

¿Estructura del SLPAC?
Los miembros asisten mensualmente en persona a una junta y sirven como enlace entre su comunidad escolar y el SLPAC.
Structure of the SLPAC?
Members attend monthly in-person meetings and serve as the liaison between their school community and the SLPAC.
