Parents and Guardians

Parents and Guardians who want to volunteer at their child’s/children’s school can do so in a variety of ways. Each school knows best what is needed at their site. To learn more about volunteer opportunities for parents, check with your child’s/children’s school.

Use the link below to register with our parents and guardian volunteer system:

  • You will complete a background check through Verified Volunteers with results reported within 48 hours and recorded in Synergy.
  • Once cleared, work with your child’s/children’s school for opportunities.

Non-Parent Adult Volunteers

If you are a relative, a caregiver, a family friend, or community member who wants to volunteer to serve in a school, we welcome your time and talents. There are a variety of needs including chaperoning field trips, supporting classroom events, tutoring students, and assisting students with the college application process through College Corps.

  • Complete a Non-Parent Volunteer Form which will initiate an email to you to complete a background check.
  • You will complete a background check through Verified Volunteers with results reported within 48 hours.
  • Once cleared, check with your school of interest for volunteer opportunities. If you do not have a school contact, email NunezR@bsd405.org.

Athletics and Activities Adult Volunteers

Many athletic teams and activities utilize volunteers who serve as an assistant coach, assist an advisor with an afterschool club, chaperone extended field trips, serve as guest clinicians, assist with ski school or provide before and after school activities, including vendors that are managed through PTSA.

  • Complete an Athletics and Activities Volunteer Form which will initiate an email to you to complete a background check.
  • You will complete a background check through Verified Volunteers with results reported within 48 hours.

Partner Organization Adult Volunteers

Are you working through one of our partner organizations approved by the Office of Community Development? We are fortunate to have the following organizations serving in our schools: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue, Girls on the Run, Rainier Athletes, Microsoft TEALS, and AVID Coaches.

Some BSD schools have opportunities for students to complete internships. If you have been contacted and approved as an internship host site participant, use the link below to register with our partner organization volunteer system:

  • You will complete a background check through Verified Volunteers with results reported within 48 hours.
