Interlake High School Parking Permit Application Process 2018-19

General Information:

  • Applications for a parking permit are available below
  • Parking permits will be assigned to juniors and seniors only.
  • Students must pay all outstanding fines and fees BEFORE they can be eligible to apply.
  • Laptops MUST BE TURNED IN by Thursday, June 21st. If your laptop is turned in after June 21st your application will be included in a lottery with the single driver applications for the remaining spaces, if available.
  • Students must be at least 16 years old and have valid driver’s licenses. No exceptions. Carpool drivers must meet the 6 month state requirement for driving with passengers. Driving with siblings is legal and will qualify for a carpool however please see the minimum requirements for carpool/rideshare.

Carpools/Rideshare, Off-Campus WANIC, Part Time Running Start and GHSP Seniors with internships, drivers are given priority for parking permits. Only Carpool/Rideshare applications and applications for students who are confirmed to be in a Gifted Internship, Running Start or off campus WANIC will be accepted for the first two weeks. If more applications are received than parking spaces available, a lottery will be used to determine who will receive a permit (See Important Dates).

  • Carpools/Rideshare consists of 3 or more students.
  • If a student is part of a carpool/rideshare, they will not be eligible for a single-driver parking permit or an ORCA card.
  • All carpool/rideshare applications submitted after the priority window will be included in a lottery with the single driver applications for the remaining spaces, if available.

All parking spaces will be given according to the process outlined below:

  • All applications must be delivered to the school in person during the designated dates and times. If you are unable to make these times, please appoint someone to drop off the application for your student. There will be no exceptions. All carpool/rideshare applications will be entered into the single driver lottery if received after the priority deadline.
  • Turning in an application, does not guarantee the student a parking spot.
  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Complete applications include:
    • A completed application form with all signatures, a copy of a current insurance card, and a copy of the student’s driver’s license (no copies will be made at the school).
  • Do not attach checks to the application. Payment will be accepted once a student has been approved for a parking permit.
  • When a parking permit is issued, the student/family will receive an e-mail indicating they have been approved for a parking permit, and when it will be ready to be picked up.
  • Parking permits can be picked up at the accounting office. Students must pay the $100 permit fee when picking up their permit.
  • Students have until the end of the first full week of school to pick up their parking permit. If it is not picked up by this date, it will be released and assigned to a student on the waiting list.

Carpool Permit Application Single Driver Permit Application

Important Dates:

June 14th – 21th

Carpool applications for 2018 -2019 will be accepted in the Main Office according to the following schedule:

·   Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 am – 8:30 am

·     Wednesday: 1:20 pm – 2:20 pm

 

June 22nd – August 3rd

NO PARKING APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

MAIN OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED AT THIS TIME.

August 7th – August 10th

Carpool applications for 2018-2019 will be accepted in the Main Office according to the following schedule:

·         Tuesday – Friday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Carpool priority ends on Friday, August 10th at 12 pm. Any Carpool applications turned in after this time will go into the lottery for the remaining spots. PLEASE SEE SINGLE DRIVER PERMIT INFORMATION IN THE RIGHT COLUMN FOR IMPORTANT DATES.

August 13th – August 17th

Carpool applications turned in June and the first week in August will be processed.

August 20st

Notification e-mails will be sent to those carpool applications that are approved for a permit.

August 22nd & 23rd    

Permits can be paid for and picked up during the Taking Care of Business days.

 

Important Dates:

June 22nd – August 3rd

NO PARKING APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

MAIN OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED AT THIS TIME.

August 20th – 24th  

Parking permit applications (both past deadline carpool and single driver) accepted in the Main Office from 9 am–12 pm. Applications will be included in the lottery for the remaining spots after the carpool priority deadline.

August 27th – August 29th

Parking permit applications (both carpool and single driver) accepted for the second lottery round. Second lottery round will only take place if there are still parking spots remaining. If there are no spot remaining, these applications will be added to a waiting list in the order they were received.

August 27th

Notification e-mails will be sent to those applications that were selected in the lottery.

August 28th – September 7th

Permits can be paid for and pick up in the accountant’s office from 9 am–12pm.

After August 30th

Applications will continue to be accepted and added to the waiting list in the order they were received.
