Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda’s Club Seattle). This annual event encourages teens to write about their experience with cancer for the opportunity to win one of several $1,000 cash prizes.
The goal of the Cancer Unwrapped Teen Writing Contest is to open a dialogue with teens about the emotions they have felt when dealing with cancer. Teens in Washington State from grades 9-12 are invited to share their stories about cancer in personal essays of 500 – 2,000 works. Essays can be about their own experience of a personal diagnosis or about their experience with the diagnosis of a loved one, a schoolmate, or a friend. The contest deadline is March 3, 2020.
