One of the most frequently asked questions we get is “who can attend Interlake and how do we apply?” Please keep in mind:

Interlake is a Washington State public high school. The single best way for your child to attend and become part of the IB program is to live in Interlake’s service area (PDF).  Consult the map, particularly if you are moving to and/or are new to the Pacific Northwest. Any family that resides within the Interlake boundary may embark on the IB Diploma pathway.

Another route for your child to enter Interlake from a different high school in the Bellevue School District is for your child to become tested as an advanced learner. Please consult with Michael O’Byrne at Obyrnem@bsd405.org to get more information on Interlake’s Advanced Learning program that includes the IB Diploma.

For families in the Bellevue School District, but not in Interlake’s attendance area, the district does offer Open Enrollment. This is limited and the deadline is usually in January preceding the year you wish your student to attend. If you missed the open enrollment, please contact the Student Placement office.

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
