The week of May 16 – 20 will be utilized for state the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) and Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). We will utilize a 2-hour late start during this week with regular classes beginning at 10:15.

  • Students in grades 6 – 8 and in 10th Grade will arrive at 8:15 to complete the SBA assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math each day.
    • The ELA Performance Test is scheduled over two days- Monday and Tuesday.
    • If a student completes the ELA Performance Test on Monday, they should arrive at 10:15 on Tuesday- they do not need to arrive at 8:15 on Tuesday for the ELA Performance Test Pt 2.
  • Students in 11th grade will arrive at 8:15 to complete the WCAS on Thursday and Friday only. They will have a late arrival on other days.
    • The WCAS is scheduled over two days- Thursday and Friday.
    • If a student completes the WCAS on Thursday, they should arrive at 10:15 on Friday – they do not need to arrive at 8:15 on Friday for the WCAS Pt 2.
  • Students in 9th and 12th grade will arrive at 10:15 each day. We will have supervised spaces for students who need to arrive prior to 10:15.

Student reminders for testing:

  • Bring your laptop fully charged each day from May 16-20.
  • Bring your power cord in case your battery does die.
  • Bring WIRED headphones if you have them. Bluetooth headphones will not work.
  • Bring your normal school materials in addition to your fully charged laptop.
    • We are operating on a late start schedule so you will still go to all your classes.
