The week of May 15-19 will be utilized for the state Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) and Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). We will utilize a 2-hour early dismissal during this week with regular classes ending at 12:45pm MTTHF and 11:10am Wednesday. Lunch will be served after the last class of the day. Testing will occur after lunch.  Bus pickup will occur at normal time each day.

  • Students in grades 6,7,8, and 10 will complete the SBA assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math each day.
    • The ELA Performance Test is scheduled over two days- Thursday and Friday.
    • If a student completes the ELA Performance Test on Thursday and they have completed all the other tests, they do not need to attend the Friday testing session.
  • Students in 11th grade will complete the WCAS on Monday and Tuesday only. They will have early dismissal on other days.
    • The WCAS is scheduled over two days- Monday and Tuesday.
    • If a student completes the WCAS on Monday, they do not need to attend the Tuesday testing session.
  • Students in 9th and 12th grade will have early dismissal each day. We will have supervised spaces for students who need to stay until normal dismissal time.

Student reminders for testing:

  • Students will test in their COMMUNITY classrooms.
  • Bring your laptop fully charged each day from May 15-19.
  • Bring your power cord in case your battery does die.
  • Bring WIRED headphones if you have them. Bluetooth headphones will not work.
  • Bring your normal school materials in addition to your fully charged laptop.
    • We are operating on an early dismissal; you will still go to all your classes.
