We had a wonderful first two days of school and we’re eagerly anticipating meeting the kindergarteners next week. 我们很高兴快看到我们的幼儿园小朋友！
As you know, we have a new recess lunch schedule this year and I’m happy to report that we’re seeing improvements already! Kids are eating more of their lunch and they have plenty of time to socialize while they eat. 今年的午餐时间比去年多了五分钟加上十分钟的进出时间。 看的出来学生们吃的比去年多也有足够的时间和朋友聊天。
In recognition that you are getting a lot of emails from various staff members, Principal Newsletter will be sent every three week from now on. Time sensitive announcements will be sent home via classroom newsletters. I will also include a Mandarin-language YouTube video that explains some of the highlighted announcements. Even if you do not speak Mandarin, watch the video and you’d be surprised how much you can understand！ 校长报告会在每三星期Email给他家。重要的情报会使YouTube的中文影片报告。
Our building does not have air conditioning and we will be in the 90’s next week. Please dress your child in light and loose clothing and make sure they have their water bottles. You might consider putting ice cubes in their bottles and pack hydrating snacks such as frozen grapes, berries, oranges, etc. 下星期会非常热。请给小朋友穿薄一点的衣服，水瓶， 和清爽的点心比如冰冻葡萄，橙子，等等。
Parking, Foot Traffic, and Student Safety （请看上面的Youtube影片）
Please remember to use the parking area directly in front of the school on the street. The lower parking lot is now reserved for staff; parents and visitors can continue to use the upper overflow parking lot as necessary. While on campus use sidewalks and stay clear of the bus and emergency vehicle lane. DO NOT use the bus loading zone as a drop-off or pick-up spot.
Finally, we will once again reinforce our rule of keeping adults off campus during drop-off and pick-up times; when you see the signs that indicate adults should stay off campus please respect the sign and know that this is our way of ensuring student safety. Due to our open campus, we need to have a good visual of the kids and that means keeping adults from weaving in-and-out of the kid lines.
Thank you for your cooperation.

The role of a School Counselor is to support students’ social emotional health and learning. Our wonderful Ms. Maggie has prepared an introduction letter explaining her service to our students. Ms. Maggie knows our students well and will be working closely with the classroom teachers to be proactive in educating the students. There are times when your child might confide in you a friendship situation that bothers them at school or maybe you know that your child could benefit from talking to an adult at school who has the training to guide students through a rough patch. Please do not hesitate to contact her directly.
