Dear Jing Mei Families:
The district recently shared the results of its Demographic and Enrollment Study. This study examines enrollment, demographic trends, and what can be expected in years to come. The study also addresses declining enrollment — a challenge that is being felt within neighboring districts, throughout our state and across the country. The district is currently in the decision-making process of how to address this decline in enrollment while maintaining financial stability and continuing to offer a high-quality education for all students.
For these reasons, BSD has made a difficult decision to pause, which includes our school, Jing Mei Elementary School.
We know our families, students and staff will have questions, comments and/or concerns moving forward. Our community will have opportunities to provide input on plans being considered. In the days and weeks ahead, you will receive more information on how you can share your feedback. At the school level, we will also provide opportunities for our school community to share their thoughts.
Despite this change in building plans, choice schools remain an important part of our district. BSD and Jing Mei remain committed to offering an exceptional education to our students, offering new and innovative programs, and providing high-quality support services. Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to address challenges while ensuring positive outcomes for all of our students.
