Book Faire Family Night

  • The book fair is an important fundraiser for the Medina Library.  It accounts for a good portion of our yearly book budget.
  • As you can see from the schedule above, each class will come to library at their regularly scheduled library time (unless your library teacher has connected with you to pick a new time).  You will drop them off for 40 mins and they will have Book Fair during their library time.
  • There will be no book turn in or checkout next week.  We are reminding students that they will keep anything they check out this week for TWO weeks.
  • Students who want to purchase items at the Book Fair can do so with either cash or an e-wallet.
    • Parents have already received communication on how to set up an e-wallet.  We encourage e-wallets because they are the quickest form of payment and then a child doesn’t risk losing their cash.
    • If a student does bring cash, we’ve instructed them to keep it in a wallet or ziploc bag with their name on it.  We’ve also told students that they aren’t allowed to ask people for money or give their money away.
    • Students may not pay with debit/credit card or apple pay, but adults can.
  • Parents and students can come to the Book Fair before and after school (see schedule for days and hours).  Students will not be allowed in during these times without an adult.  There is also a family night on Wednesday 12/6 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  All families are staff are welcome to come!
  • Staff who want to shop at the Book Fair can come anytime it’s open.
  • On Monday morning at 7:45, teachers come in for a “sneak peek” and create a wish list of books.  This helps guide students and families who want to gift you books for your classroom library.
  • Admin have identified students who may not have money to purchase books.  They will be discreetly helping these students purchase a book when their class comes to library.

Here is a blurb you can send out to parents.

Next week (12/4-12/8) is our annual Book Fair!  This is a fun event for students and families, and the money raised will help the Medina Library purchase new books.  Students will have the opportunity to shop at the Book Fair during their class library time next week.  They can make purchases with an e-wallet or cash.  Setting up an e-wallet is simple, just follow this link: https://account.scholastic.com/my-scholastic/profile/create-ewallet.html?fairID=5439915&sUCN=600103556.  You can also come shop with your child before or after school (Monday afternoon through Friday morning).  On Wednesday 12/6 we will have a Family Night from 5:30-7:30 and all are welcome.  Thank you for supporting our students by shopping at the Book Fair!
