UPDATED Schedule: First Semester Finals Schedule – Tuesday, January 28 – Thursday, January 30, 2020 **Please remember that during our finals week, other campuses (elementary, middle, and high schools) are still in session and visitors are NOT allowed during the school day.  Thank you for your cooperation.


If you have AP, SAT ACT or other test prep books gathering dust in your house, donate them to Books for UNICEF to help provide education for children around the world. Donation boxes will be in front of the main office. 


Attention all baseball players!  2020 Tryouts are just around the corner and we have important information for you!  Parent/Player meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at 7:00pm in the Newport Library.  All former and interested players should attend to learn about the program and tryouts.  Off Season workouts are available and encouraged for all former and interested players.  Coach Kim offers weight training on Mondays from 7:30-8:45pm and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm.  Open field workouts take place on the Varsity field on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm. Team tryouts will be on Monday, March 2 through Wednesday, March 4th.


The Boys Soccer Program is holding open field sessions.  All students interested in trying out for the boys’ soccer program should attend.  Open field times are Saturday January 25th & Saturday February 1st, 8th, 29th from 10:00am-11:30am at Newport Stadium.

Running Start Information Meeting for 10th & 11th grade students will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in NHS Lecture Hall at 1pm. This meeting is for students in 10th and 11th grades who are interested in learning more about Running Start at Bellevue College or Lake Washington Institute of Technology, and how to enroll for 2020-2021.  We will discuss eligibility, steps, benefits, challenges, policies, and timelines.  A representative from Bellevue College will be present to answer questions.


The Bellevue School District is hosting a job fair on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Please help us spread the word about this opportunity to learn about certificated and classified positions in the district. Applicants will be able to apply on-site and departments from across the district will have representatives available to discuss open positions. Learn more on our BSD Job Fair page.


Knights in Vienna is the annual Viennese Style Waltz night put on by the Newport Orchestra Program. Knights in Vienna will be held on Saturday, February 1st in the Newport High School Ballroom (usually referred to as the gym). We are excited about this event and hope to see you there!


Small Group acts are invited to audition for a special performance opportunity at Knights in Vienna. If you are looking for a place to show off your skills, we would love to see what you’ve got! Auditions will be held in the music wing in room 1225 starting at 3:30 on Tuesday, January 21. See Mr. Blough to schedule an audition.


If you are interested in learning about Autism or becoming a Peer Advocate, join us for the first SEPIA Club meeting of the year. Come see how you can educate peers in Autism Acceptance next Monday, February 3rd at 3:55pm in room 2102.


If you are an English language/literature student and interested in helping out with the Tyee Spelling Bee Competition on Monday, February 3rd or February 10th between 4:30pm – 6:30pm as a pronouncer, please contact parent volunteer Lakshmi Raju at  3rd or Feb 10th between 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM as a pronouncer at Tyee middle school.

The Student Store is now open 1st and 2nd lunch and accept cash or credit.


Peer Tutors Wanted for all levels of math & science. Peer tutors receive community service hours for their assistance. Students who want to be a Peer Tutor can sign up in the Main Office.

Grad Knight Registration & Ticket Purchase links are live! This all-night celebration for seniors begins directly after the graduation ceremony June 16, 2020. The ticket includes transportation to multiple events with food, drink, and GREAT entertainment.
