If you are interested in learning about Autism or becoming a Peer Advocate, join us for the first SEPIA Club meeting of the year. Come see how you can educate peers in Autism Acceptance next Monday, February 3rd at 3:55pm in room 2102.
If you are an English language/literature student and interested in helping out with the Tyee Spelling Bee Competition on Monday, February 3rd or February 10th between 4:30pm – 6:30pm as a pronouncer, please contact parent volunteer Lakshmi Raju at firstname.lastname@example.org. 3rd or Feb 10th between 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM as a pronouncer at Tyee middle school.
Knights in Vienna is the annual Viennese Style Waltz night put on by the Newport Orchestra Program. Knights in Vienna will be held on Saturday, February 1st in the Newport High School Ballroom (usually referred to as the gym). We are excited about this event and hope to see you there!
Small Group acts are invited to audition for a special performance opportunity at Knights in Vienna. If you are looking for a place to show off your skills, we would love to see what you’ve got! The Sound of Music at Newport High School – Newport High School is bringing the Sound of Music to the NHS stage. The Von Trapp Family singers will prove to you that the hills are alive! There are multiple performances – Purchase your tickets online for the play, click: BrownPaperTickets.
The 2020 Newport Baseball tryouts are just around the corner! Parent/player meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 15th at 7pm in the Newport Library. All former and interested players should attend to learn about the program and tryouts. Off season workouts are available and encouraged for all. Coach Kim offers weight training on Mondays from 7:30 to 8:45pm and Wednesdays 4:30 to 5:30pm. Open field workouts take place on the Varsity Field on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Team Tryouts will be on Monday, March 2 through Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
Running Start Information Meeting for 10th & 11th grade students will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in NHS Lecture Hall at 1pm. This meeting is for students in 10th and 11th grades who are interested in learning more about Running Start at Bellevue College or Lake Washington Institute of Technology, and how to enroll for 2020-2021. We will discuss eligibility, steps, benefits, challenges, policies, and timelines. A representative from Bellevue College will be present to answer questions.
The Bellevue School District is hosting a job fair on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Please help us spread the word about this opportunity to learn about certificated and classified positions in the district.
