Newport will pilot diagnostic testing with the opportunity for students to test beginning next week.

COVID-19 screening and diagnostic testing details.

We have begun pilot testing to prepare for a full rollout at all of our schools. By starting on a smaller scale, we have had the opportunity to learn and refine our practices as we go. The district expects to begin in all of our schools by the end of October.

Diagnostic Testing looks for infections in individuals who have symptoms or have been exposed to COVID-19

Testing may ONLY occur with permission and consent

You can opt-in or opt-out of COVID-19 testing using this link  ( to complete the consent form. Because Washington Department of Health requires the District to obtain written parental consent for minor students and assent/consent for students themselves if they are 18 or over and their own legal guardian, any student that does not have consent will not be tested.
