Good Morning Vikings!

Today is Friday, September 14th

Hey Odle, Jubilee soccer and XC start Monday!  Sign up today.  Jubilee REACH dot org.The registration link is on the community board by the main offices.  Go Vikings!”

Today is the last day to get your application into the box for all students interested in being in the Robotics club. If you are interested in the challenge of designing, building, programming and competing with robots, then this club is for you. You must be able to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 to 8:30 every week, as well as be available to compete in competitions on Saturdays. If interested, fill out an application form (found in the office or get one from Mr. Westerside) and place it in the box in the office by today at 4pm. If you have any questions, talk to Mr. Westerside.

The deadline for ASB applications are coming up this Monday, September 17th before 4pm, so for those who haven’t turned in their applications, turn them into the office before your opportunity is gone! One of the 7 positions you can run for is president. The president is the official representative of the students, and fills many rolls among ASB, such as directing ASB activities, like meetings, and making sure events are well planned. Remember that any grade level can run, but only 8th graders can run for president. Just a reminder for those of you interested in ASB, the luncheon is in the stage classroom, not the library!

Odle Spirit Wear is back! Order forms are in the main office or can be done online. We need all orders by October 5th. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!

Rocketry 101 is starting! Are you interested in learning how to build and fly your own rocket? Rocketry 101 is also a prerequisite for Rocketry 201(spring) and the Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC). This year Rocketry 101 will be on Thursdays beginning September 27 from 4:00 to 4:45 in room 107. At Odle we conduct a lottery as we have such a strong interest in Rocketry 101. If you want to join, please fill out a lottery slip in the Odle office and put it in the box! Names will be drawn on September 21 and students will be notified the following Monday. Thank you for your interest in Rocketry 101

Melee Mondays are returning this Monday, Sept 17 – but now in the mornings! Every Monday morning from 8 to 8:30am the giant TV in room 207 will be buzzing and Super Smash Bros. Melee will be playing. If you play any of the Super Smash Bros games, you are welcome. If you have ever wanted to learn how to play a Smash bros game, you are welcome. If you want to get beat in a video game by a teacher, Ms. Jelacic looks forward to playing with you. That’s room 207 with Ms Jelacic, 8 to 8:30am, every Monday. And remember: Spam is a food, not a strategy.

SOAR is a student club that stands of: Students Organized Against Racism. SOAR supports conversations and work to learn more about race. If you have knowledge on this topic,  previous experiences dealing with race, or are interested in fighting racism, please join SOAR! It’s a place where you can be open and share your thoughts and ideas.  SOAR meets every Tuesday in Mrs. Sutton’s room (223) at 4:00 PM.

Today’s lunch is barbecue pulled port sandwich on a pretzel roll.

Have a great day everyone!

The Bellevue School District acknowledges that we learn, work, live and gather on the Indigenous Land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish and Snoqualmie Tribes. We thank these caretakers of this land, who have lived and continue to live here, since time immemorial.
